Welcome to the website of the Dundee Branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society. Scottish Country Dancing is a very social activity - a good way of meeting people and making friends. It is also recognized as an excellent form of exercise as shown by research carried out by the University of Strathclyde. Autumn Dance
The Autumn dance will be held in Morgan Academy on Saturday 12th October. We are looking forward to welcoming Ian Thomson's Band for the first time.
Dundee Half-Day School
The Dundee Branch Half Day School and Dance was very much enjoyed by all, with Janet Johnston teaching some interesting dances, some with a Dundee connection. David Oswald's band provided some superb music for the evening dance.
2025 Centenary Year
Dundee Branch was instituted on 9th February 1925 in Mather's Hotel (now the Malmaison). A series of events are planned for 2025 starting with the popular First Foot Ball in the Invercarse Hotel on Saturday 11th January featuring Scott Band and his Band. The 2025 Half Day School will be on Saturday 22nd March (taught by William Williamson) followed by a Centenary Dance with Jim Lindsay's Band.
