NB: The General class continues for the first two weeks of April. These are followed by four Spring Socials from April 16th with live music.

Adult Classes

From September to March we run a New Dancers Class, a General Class and an Advanced Class for adults. All the classes are very relaxed and informal. There is no dress code, but dance shoes are advisable (soft shoes such as sneakers are ok for the Beginners' class). If in doubt about your level, try the Beginners' class first.

New Dancers Class
This class is for people with a little, or no experience of Scottish Country Dancing. This runs on Tuesday evenings and details are available here

General Class
The emphasis of this class is very much on social dancing. Here you will learn dances old and new, popular and less well known, and all in a relaxed and friendly manner. This is a relatively low impact class. The class is taught in rotation by Sue Steele, Fiona Carroll and Fiona Mackie.

The class takes place on Tuesdays, 7.30 to 9.30 pm with a short break for tea (please bring your own cup!). The classes run until April 9th. £4.50 per session or £22 for a 6-week block.

Classes are held in St Andrew's Church Hall, King Street, Dundee (next to Wellgate Centre, use door at top of car park). For access code to car parking please get in touch, alternatively, there is parking in Queen Street off the Seagate (opposite Enterprise car hire) and steps up to King Street.

Advanced Class with Live Music

From Thursday 10th January to 23rd May 2019 (No class 4 and 11 April).

This class is for dancers with a good knowledge of steps and formations and who wish to learn more challenging dances. Some time is spent on technique and less common formations, with considerable emphasis on teamwork and social dancing. Classes run on Thursdays 7.30-9.30 pm. £25 for 6 weeks or £5 per night (students £15 for 6 weeks or £3 per night). The class is taught by Fiona Mackie with Adam Brady on accordion.

Dancers from this class make up the Branch Demonstration Team. We perform at events throughout our area, helping to promote Scottish Country Dancing in Dundee and pass on our enjoyment of the dance to others.
