Classes for Children

Does your child have an interest in dancing? Do they like music, and making new friends? We have classes for children where they will meet new people, learn traditional Scottish dances and steps, and have fun!! Scottish Country Dancing is a great way to exercise in a fun, social environment, and to strengthen team-working skills. It is more complex than ceilidh dancing and encourages mental and physical coordination. All our teachers are friendly, enthusiastic, and all first aid trained. We complete Disclosure Scotland checks on any person who is teaching or assisting at all our children's classes.

The Branch does not currently run a Junior class. However, we remain eager to encourage Scottish Country Dancing for all ages. If you have a youth group of any sort and would like a class (or a few classes) to teach Scottish Country Dancing, then please get in touch. This could be in the run up to Burns' Night, a Christmas ceilidh or other such event, or just because you would like your children to learn such an enjoyable and sociable skill.

Similarly, if you have a small group of children who would be keen to learn Scottish Country Dancing in a weekly class, please get in touch and we shall see if we can accomodate this.

Please phone 07751 285241 for further information. If you are not answered immediately, please leave a message and we will get back to you.
